Let’s face it…college is hard enough.
“Encounter thrives on relationships. We are seeking a better understanding of this life and how to live it through relationships with each other and with God. We are a group of students who do not pretend to have "it" all figured out. We desire real, authentic relationships that lead us to become better people. We want to surround ourselves with people who are real and are tired of playing life. We build these relationships through Bible study, retreats, trainings, outreach, fellowships, and sharing life with one another. We desire for this real community to be found in Encounter, and ultimately in Christ.”

First, you might be in a new place without knowing anyone. Then there’s class. Humanities, calculus, computer programming…
Oh, then there’s SURVIVING. Sure, selling plasma might put Ramen noodles on the table, but how long can that really last? Being in college can seem like drowning in a sea of sharks, but it doesn’t have to.
Come to us with any and every question you may have. If we don’t know the answer, we’ll find someone who does.
We are here to help you…with school, life, survival. Not just that, we want you to know that Jesus always has an open ear turned your way.
We will never force “religion” down your throat, but we will let you know why we believe what we believe.
Encounter is a branch of the Baptist Collegiate Ministries of Evansville. You are thinking…Do I have to be Baptist to be involved? The answer is NO. There are a number of denominations represented within this ministry.
We want to build a relationship with you. Don’t let the fact that we are a Christian organization push you away. Get to know us, and we’ll do the same.
We exist to encounter culture with the relevance and transformation found in Christ. |
